Forest Offices Closed for Veterans Day

This is a press release from the Six Rivers National Forest:

EUREKA, Calif. – All Six Rivers National Forest offices will be closed Monday, November 12, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. Regular business hours will resume Tuesday, November 13.

In addition, all forest offices will be closed Thursday, November 15, for an all-employee meeting. Regular business hours will resume Friday, November 16.

Fall is a busy time of year—a time for getting your firewood cutting and Christmas tree permits! While all firewood cutting permits must be obtained in person from any Six Rivers National Forest office, Christmas tree permits are also available by mail. For more information about cutting firewood on the forest, visit https://go.usa.gov/xPd7g. For more information about Christmas tree cutting and how to obtain a permit by mail on the Six Rivers, visit https://go.usa.gov/xPd7b and https://go.usa.gov/xPd78.

The forest also participates in the Every Kid in a Park program, where fourth-graders are eligible for a free Christmas tree permit. To receive a free Christmas tree permit, fourth-graders or their teachers need to sign up for the program at www.everykidinapark.gov, complete the application process, and then download and print their pass. Kids must bring their pass—and their parents—to any Six Rivers National Forest office to receive their free Christmas tree permit.

Forest offices and the Del Norte County Chamber of Commerce will be open for Christmas tree permit sales as follows:

These scheduled dates and times are subject to change. In addition to the above office closures, all forest offices will be closed on Thursday, November 22, for Thanksgiving.

hmmm, 3-day weekend (Modus Operendi for “Wild Fires”). Forest offices closed. 747 grounded. Humboldt’s “County Strike Team” not in Humboldt.

I think we should just bend over and kiss our arse good-bye.
