SoHum Chamber’s Featured Business of the Week: One Log House Espresso & Gifts

Southern Humboldt Chamber of Commerce

Every week the Southern Humboldt Chamber of Commerce features a business of the week. We’ll be sharing their posts here to celebrate our community.

This week’s featured “Business of the Week” is the One Log House Espresso & Gifts!

The One Log House Espresso & Gifts has been successfully operating for the last 20 years and is most well-known for the historical “One Log House” that had once been built as a travel home inside!  Somewhere around 2016 the previous owners decided to put the business up for sale.  An active group of partners that has been helping facilitate and run the infamous Northern Nights Event which is held each year also in the Piercy area, decided they wanted to expand their roots a little deeper.   Peter Huson, Kevin Jodrey and a few other prominent figures in our community soon had a discussion and decided to all go in together and purchase this popular tourist attraction that’s right off of highway 101!

Currently operating today, the property that the One Log House quietly remains on is open for viewing inside and the espresso and gift shop next door is in full swing!  This world class tourist attraction hot spot offers local espresso & coffee, local dairy, delicious sandwiches, tasty smoothies, sweet ice cream flavors, baked goods, a wide variety of organic snacks, local crafts and apparel and even medicinal mushrooms available upon request.

Aside from the hand crafted and classic souvenirs available for purchase this one of a kind gift shop has recently expanded.  There is now a newly built cannabis dispensary and nursery which offers recreational cannabis from local farms, state of the art tissue culture clones and unique genetic strains that will provide local cultivators with clean, consistent stock to mitigate systemic plant issues, minimize testing costs and help compete in the new face of cannabis.

Oh and that’s not all!

One Log House Espresso & Gifts is currently working with The Southern Humboldt Historical Society, The Humboldt Lodging Alliance and the Southern Humboldt Business & Visitors Bureau to create a Museum of Local History, on site.  This will be in collaboration with the Elevate the Magic campaign.

This multi-operational business also offers support in small business services such as payroll, HR & compliance and sits on a large enough space to be able to offer community events.  In fact, this winter the staff here is planning on having “Fire Fridays”, bonfire gatherings with good food, friends and cannabis!

Located at: 705 US Highway 101, it’s just 3 minutes from the Humboldt/Mendocino County line!

Hours of operation are 8:30 am – 5:30 pm Monday – Friday!

Oh wow. Nice to see it’s still around. I was sad to see The Stump House in Eureka was gone. Good to see some of the old kitsch is surviving.

Bummer, guess I wont be stopping there with the kids anymore.
“Prominent figures..”? Really? Let’s not over glorify our local drug dealers anymore. Exactly what have these guys done good for our community? So they grow dope, sell dope, and have openly for many years. That should afford them some kind of notoriety here? Their dope sucks, their clones are bug-ridden, moldy, and weak, not to mention saturated with pesticides and these guys are total duchbags, low-life dads who think cash is the end-all be-all that will buy back their souls. Gimmie a break, why not report on someone local who actually makes something of themselves. Humboldt is about so much more than dope, it’s a shame that is not represented more. Whatever, let’s get high

To enter the dispensary, they scan your driver’s license.. I found that quite uncomfortable..
