Francis Ford Coppola Pairs With Humboldt County Cannabis Cultivators

Press release from Sana Company, LLC:

The Grower’s Series by Francis Ford Coppola launches a cannabis lifestyle brand with a limited edition collection featuring three unique 100% organic cannabis flower strains hand-selected to offer distinct and memorable experiences. The six-time Academy Award winning director and entrepreneur has more than 40 years of agricultural expertise through a thriving wine business and created his newest company to separately give life to a progressive vision for pioneering the highest quality, sun-grown cannabis products through sustainable farming.

“Wine and cannabis are two ancient and bounteous gifts of Mother Nature, linked by great care, terroir and temperateness. Expertise making one applies to the other,” says Francis Ford Coppola. “As with growing grapes, location matters, and The Grower’s Series reflects California agricultural expertise creating a true blend of art and science.”

The Grower’s Series by Francis Ford Coppola embraces appellation-specific sourcing and sustainable outdoor farming for its newest product. The Grower’s Series by Francis Ford Coppola limited edition collection is produced by highly-respected local growers Johnny Deim and Brett Todoroff of the Humboldt Brothers, veteran cultivators of premium flower from select Humboldt County farms. The collaboration follows the California state legislation announcement earlier this year, which allows the private cultivation and recreational use of cannabis for those aged 21 and over.

“Our business is founded on trust, relationships and growing in one of the most desirable cannabis appellations in the world,” says Johnny Deim, Humboldt Brothers Founder and CEO. “We refined our farm growing techniques this year that have resulted in our finest quality harvest, and we are excited about growing alongside innovators who are embracing a new chapter in cannabis.”

The Grower’s Series by Francis Ford Coppola will engage California’s growing number of recreational and medicinal users discovering (or rediscovering) cannabis. Education is important so that cannabis-curious consumers can engage in the emerging space with knowledge to safely discover preferences and with confidence to maximize enjoyment. Throughout launch, The Grower’s Series by Francis Ford Coppola is collaborating with The Herb Somm, a lifestyle brand that addresses the gourmet side of the cannabis industry. Jamie Evans, The Herb Somm Founder, was named Wine Enthusiast Top 40 Under 40 Tastemakers 2018 and will host exclusive events in Northern California this month.

The Grower’s Series by Francis Ford Coppola product’s distinct packaging features an innovative tin canister that opens to reveal three precise grams of flower. Each strain offers a unique experience that reflects the diverse Humboldt County microclimates. There is an uplifting and creative sativa-dominant strain that is cultivated at Tan Oak Farms (elevation 1,700 feet) where the climate is warm from continuous sunshine. An indica-dominant strain that relaxes the body and mind is nurtured at Benbow Farm (elevation 600 feet). And a truly hybrid experience influencing enhanced mood and focus is grown at the Salmon Creek Farm (elevation 2,400 feet) where this strain benefits from cooler temperatures and diverse soil.

Quantities are limited and starting November 1, Northern California residents can pre-order through the licensed retailer www.CaliChill.com for delivery to personal residence mid-December through year end, or find at select California dispensaries.

“Chill is excited to collaborate on The Grower’s Series by Francis Ford Coppola launch because we believe in the vision behind it,” says Deirdre Davi, CMO of Chill’s parent company. “Our team will ensure a smooth, easy purchase and delivery experience for any lucky Californians who buy this high-quality, limited edition product.”

About Sána Company, LLC

Sána Company LLC, established in 2018 and owned by Francis Ford Coppola, brings to life a progressive vision for pioneering the highest quality, sun-grown cannabis products through sustainable farming. The Grower’s Series lifestyle brand launch is intended for cannabis-curious Californians to legally explore, discover or re-discover a positive and healthy relationship through its 100% organic offering. Francis Ford Coppola, entrepreneur, screenwriter and six-time Academy Award winning director, created the company that’s name is inspired by ancient historical roots. Cannabis is recorded as a sacred plant in Sanskrit texts of Hinduism with “sána” being one of several terms used for marijuana, later becoming “canna” in Latin, which developed the root for marijuana’s scientific name.

This is what the area needs is proper recognition. Then they can start working out the knots in the cannabis laws.

Having a brand name that can be sunk by bad behavior would tend to improve behavior. But do pot users really care much about anything but getting high? If not, branding is never going to be much of a draw over price.

Yup. Cheap is what matters. Not that us smokers don’t care about quality, it’s that we’re smart enough to know it doesn’t take magic and a hefty pricetag to do the trick.

Some care about making $$$ as much, or more, than getting high.

Packaging is everything outside of Humboldt county. Opening bags, taking big whiffs, squeezing nugs, that’s black market kid stuff. Not how legal business operates at all. Packaging and marketing folks, that’s the ticket. Coke and pepsi never had to be the best tasting cola out there, because marketing and packaging was on point. Consumers are morons in America nowadays, quality and craftsmanship are no longer desired virtues to the masses.

Chief says: “Quit smokin that dope!” “Get on that .50”

I think this is good advice, even today!

Focusing on making yourself money, and sacrificing public health while working to get everyone even more fucked-up. What a worthy enterprise for wine-makers and pot-farmers…

You are doing mankind a great service by selling even better drugs!

Nice going!

Francis is overrated. Everything he directed after 1980 was absolute crap. I hope the weed is better than “New York Stories”.

It’s really great that they’re encouraging and buying sun-grown, organic weed (like you can grow on your back porch for free).
That said, i hope Mad Magazine does something with this. I got nothing!

Sun-Grown, Organic Shit! You make it sound so wholesome!

Drugs are drugs, eventual misery, will eventually cause misery, and weed, has no redeeming value.

Hey, smoke another one, Mr Guest…

Misery is not an emotion I waste my time on, and pot never got anyone anywhere.

I know you smoke for your pains, but, pain is emotional, too…

Hang in there, Mr Guest, and please don’t project your misery on others…

Lets go drug free. No more tobacco, beer, vodka, wine, caffeine. Granted we would all be healthier, have more cash, and smell better, but what about the joi de vivre of being free.

Funny how “they” all encouraged sun grown weed here in humboldt. Kmud preached about it and now….. Estelle and the supervisor entourage has eliminated all and any “organic sungrown” weed. Back to diesel, coal,or damed up rivers power to fuel hidden chem grown indoor weed. 1998 all over again!

Lolz whoo ! 3grams

3 grams ! …floor sweepings around here.

And the permitted farmers and the cannabis marketers can frost it lavishly with all the hyped up language they want; it’s just weed. It’s 3grams at a completely inflated price –in tons of PACKAGING. For throwing around words like “sustainable” every other fucking second one thing the pot industry is very good at, and that is producing TRASH.

Yeah I think maybe the Brothers forgot to inform Francis Ford Coppola that the standard unit used for a small amount of pot in this country is an eighth and that weighs 3.5 grams, not 3 grams Francis Ford Coppola.

They should have hooked up with Oprah, Vida Blue, Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Dee Lohan, or Prince.

Hell, even dead Prince could sell more weed than Francis.

idk.

How’s this for a deal: If you’re a director on a movie, and you’re directing a child as your star, and you molest the child– you don’t get to direct another movie!

Not the case with Victor Salva, the Hollywood director who molested one of his child stars, yet continues to make movies with kids, thanks in part to his patron, Francis Ford Coppola, according to a sickening article that’s been on the LA Times’ website for a couple of days before hitting today’s paper.

Nevertheless, Coppola Cannabis had a weird ring to it. If he’s not on the 55,000 some sealed indictments for pedo. i’d be surprised.

Crash course in Marketing 101 for Dummies. Wouldn’t try it or buy it… or even waste the energy to throw it off a bridge. Doubt that anyone would even waste the energy to try to derail this bandwagon. Like FFC really needs the bucks…; but his entourage sure does. Surely hope that Todoroff is not related to the great local photographer. Sad.

Had I known this “news” was actually an advertisement for an overglorified product that is nothing more than a marketing scam used to fill the already overflowing pockets of one more wealthy “straight” person (the one whose name is stated 11 times) benefitting from legalization I would have skipped reading it and used my time for something more productive like picking this Humboldt soil from beneath my fingernails.
