[UPDATE]Three to Six Acre Wildfire Burning in Heavy Timber West of Honeydew
“We’re going to be there all night,” he said. He explained that the fire had spread to somewhere between three and six acres moving slowly in heavy timber as of 6 p.m.
“We’ve got six or seven engines, a dozer,” he noted. “Multiple local crews are out assisting.”
“The cause of the fire is unknown at this point,” Savona said. At this point, no structures are threatened.
UPDATE: Cal Fire Battalion Chief Paul Savona said, “Forward progress has been stopped and no structures were lost. Due to heavy fuels and mop up, crews will be working in the area throughout the day tomorrow.”
UPDATE: Final size 12 acres. The cause was an unattended escaped campfire.

Sounds closer to Petrolia than the Dew. Heard the sirens go by. I want rain!
“North of A.Way County Park” would be closer to Petrolia.
It is actually not north of A.Way, but southeast. Still a bit closer to Petrolia than Honeydew.
Good luck fellas

Many years ago, my neighborhood fought a fire started by a clear fruit jar. It had collected enough condensed moisture to act as a magnifying glass…starting the fire. Litter is more than ugly; it can be deadly.
