BLM Conducting Prescribed Burn at Lacks Creek Until Friday
This is a press release from the Bureau of Land Management:
Fire crews from the Bureau of Land Management Arcata Field Office are planning a prescribed fire project to improve habitat conditions in the Lacks Creek Area. Burning will begin Wednesday, Oct. 31, and continue through Friday, Nov. 2, depending if weather and fuel conditions allow for safe and successful burning.
Legal location: T8N R3E Sec 34
General location: Six miles West of Hoopa, CA. Located on the West side of the Lacks Creek Management Area

Ignition dates: 10/31/2018 – 11/2/2018.
Acreage: 40 acres total
Duration of ignition: Up to 3 days.
Duration of smoke production: Up to 5 days.
Direction of smoke travel: Southerly
Communities or smoke sensitive areas: Hoopa, CA (6 miles), Blue Lake, CA (10 miles)
