Central Washington rolled over Humboldt State for the second time this season on Saturday night, winning 62-24 at the Redwood Bowl.

“We were outmatched,” HSU head coach Damaro Wheeler said. “They are a good program. Our kids kept fighting, as usual.”

Central Washington clinched at least a share of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference title with the victory, and improved to 7-2 overall and 7-0 in conference play.

A cold and painful death of HSU football. Not what a long history of sports life should endure. I call for a quick and proper memorial and then the program given a proper burial. Sad to be a reality, but like everything it’s time has come.
