[UPDATE Wednesday] Injured Woman Near Bear Canyon Bridge in Southern Humboldt

An ambulance and fire departments have been requested to respond Code 3 (use lights and siren) to the Bear Canyon Bridge north of Garberville as of approximately 7:55 p.m., according to a dispatcher speaking over the scanner. Reportedly a 35-year-old woman has a leg fracture and a head injury.

The person reporting is waiting for the emergency personnel on the bridge to guide them to the injured woman.

The bear canyon bridge is a bum encampment. I don’t think any of us know who it is. This is not the first time this has happened,and won’t be the last. There’s a shelf under the bridge next to a 100’ drop to the creek below

Don’t know about the details of this case, but giving the amount of inebriated people around that encampment and the steep drop into the canyon below, I’m quite surprised this doesn’t happen more often. Hope this person recovers and is okay.
