Reminder: SCARF and Gyppo Ale Mill Invite You to ‘Pints for Non Profit’ in Shelter Cove on October 26th

This is a press release from Gyppo Ale Mill:

The Shelter Cove Arts and Recreation Foundation (SCARF) and Gyppo Ale Mill invite you to join us from 3-6 pm for a “Pints for Non Profit” event at Gyppo Ale Mill in Shelter Cove. During those hours, Gyppo will give one dollar of each beer purchased to SCARF. Then after the event is over, Gyppo Ale will generously match the amount as their contribution to SCARF. This program has helped many nonprofits earn much needed funds since it began late this summer.

Recently SCARF has had some acts of vandalism to its signs and benches on the nature trails. SCARF is now planning on replacing and fixing many of the signs as well as adding more. SCARF will dedicate a large portion of the money raised at this event to helping replace the signs and upgrade and maintain the trails.

SCARF was founded in 2012 as a tax exempt 501C3 California Corporation. Its goal was to provide arts and recreation activities and facilities for the citizens and visitors to Shelter Cove and Southern Humboldt County. Since its founding, SCARF has paid for and developed a softball field, run weekly family softball pickup games, opened three nature and fitness trails, opened an art gallery in Shelter Cove, offered youth workshops such as cooking, mosaic tile art, painting classes, electronic kit building, photography and a community wide youth photography contest. SCARF sponsors the annual Labor of Love Quilt Show and sponsored the recent paint out at the Art is Alive Event. SCARF has donated $5000 to help build a basketball court and more for a mountain bike trail.

For more information please visit the SCARF facebook page, or call Mark Mitchell at 986-7120 or SCARF thanks Gyppo Ale for its support as well as the community for supporting our activities. There will be a board member from SCARF at the Gyppo Event, who also can answer your questions. We will be introducing our brand new Trail Guide for all of the SCARF trails at the event too. See you there!
