Construction to Begin on Mattole Road October 16
Press release from the County of Humboldt:
Humboldt County Public Works will begin work to place a bridge over the storm damaged area on Mattole Road at [post mile] 22.60 beginning on October 16th. The road will be open but expect delays up to 2 hours. There will be flaggers in the area so please be attentive to their directions. Work will begin with reinforcing the road sides to prepare for the bridge placement. The bridge itself is tentatively scheduled to be installed on October 23 and the road will be closed approximately 4 hours during the installation. Exact date and time will be updated as we get further information.

Let’s hope they fix the road leading up to that point from Ferndale, and after it to Petrolia – some one of these years. There’s axel-eating potholes out there!!

Just go there and look around. You can see the white line of the debris slide that needs to be bridged.
