Why is Columbus Day in quotations?
Hmm, I’m not sure on the reasons why the person I have put up my press releases made that choice. I’ll fix it.
When Christopher Columbus arrived in the New World he needed to find a bank to withdraw some money. But all of the banks were closed as it was Columbus Day. Stan Freberg Presents the United States of America. Listen to it on You Tube.
This is great! It will free up their employees to head to Arcata to participate in the huge celebration in the shadow of the McKinley statue! 😉
I can’t help but thinking about The Sopranos when Columbus Day comes around.

Columbus had NOTHING to do with the “discovery” of the Americas. Our Native Americans “discovered” them thousands of year before Columbus was born. The observance of this bogus holiday is nothing more (or less) than a “celebration” of their extermination. Disgusting.
