Forest Service Offices Closed for Columbus Day

This is a press release from the Shasta-Trinity National Forest:

United States Forest Service USFSRedding, Calif. – Shasta-Trinity National Forest offices will be closed Monday, Oct. 8 in observance of the Columbus Day holiday. Regular business hours will resume Tuesday, Oct. 9 at all offices.

Firefighting, suppression and repair efforts will continue in response to the Hirz and Delta Fires. For safety reasons, the Delta-Hirz Fire Closure Order, Forest Order No. 14-19-18, remains in effect until further notice. To view the Forest Order visit https://go.usa.gov/xPBmU.

There are numerous recreational areas, outside of the closure order that are open to the public. Remember to check weather conditions before traveling or heading out into the forest. This time of year, weather conditions can vary greatly based on elevation and cell phone coverage is not available in many areas. Be advised that fire restrictions remain in effect.
