Rotary Club of Eureka Invites You to a Political Forum

This is a press release from the Rotary Club of Eureka:

The Rotary Club of Eureka is inviting the public to attend two candidate forums to be held during their regularly scheduled Monday meetings. The forums will be run by the League of Women Voters. According to Rotary organizer, Matthew Owen, there are a number of local candidates running this year (14 if you count the Harbor District candidates).  That is why the forums have been split up over two Mondays with seven candidates at each event.

Monday, October 1 will feature the Eureka Mayor and Eureka City Council, Ward 1 candidates.

The forums will take place at the Elk’s Lodge at 445 Herrick Avenue in Eureka. The forums will begin promptly at 12:30 and they will last for one hour. There will be a buffet lunch served at Noon. The cost is $15.00 per person. There is no cost if someone would just like to observe from the audience.

Rotary Club is non-partisan and non-political but believes that the key to a strong democracy is a well-informed electorate. The Rotary Club of Eureka is having both forums recorded and replayed on Access Humboldt channel 12.

The Rotary Club of Eureka was established in 1923.  It is the oldest and largest club in the area.  The Rotary Club meets Mondays at noon at the Elks Lodge for fellowship, lunch and an informative presentation from a guest speaker.  More information can be found on their web site: www.rotary1.org and on their facebook page: facebook.com/rotaryclubofeureka.
