Eureka High School’s Homecoming, Athletic Hall of Fame Events are October 11-13

Eureka High School’s Homecoming and Athletic Hall of Fame events are quickly approaching. The events kick-off Thursday, October 11th, at 7:00 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Six worthy recipients will be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame. This is a public event. This year’s six inductees are:

Keith Weidkamp – Class of 1958: Weidkamp was a sprinter who set records that stood for decades at both Eureka High School and at Humboldt State University.

Mark Lucich – Class of 1970: Lucich was a star in football, basketball, and especially baseball. He went on to set the home run record at Stanford University and in his senior year was their most valuable player.

David Bills – Class of 1976: Bill was an all-league linebacker and 3-year all-league as a catcher in baseball. One busy summer he was the catcher for both the Humboldt Crabs and Humboldt Eagles. He went on to coach high school sports for 39 years.

Wendi Figas Locatelli – Class of 2000: Locatelli was a multi-sports star in soccer, volleyball, basketball, and softball, earning multiple letters and all-league honors.

Mo Charlo – Class of 2001: Charlo excelled in football, basketball, and baseball. He has already been inducted into the Diablo Community College Hall of Fame for his basketball exploits, earned various awards from University of Nevada, Reno and has played professional basketball all over the world.

The final recipient is Coach Ron Hartman who spent 35 years with Eureka City Schools coaching gymnastics, football, golf, track and field, and both boys and girls basketball. Hartman left a positive impression on all the students under his tutelage.

Please join us on Thursday, October 11th at 7:00 p.m. for the Hall of Fame Induction in the Eureka High School cafeteria.

Thursday – October 11, 2018

7:00 p.m. – Hall of Fame Induction in the Cafeteria

Friday – October 12, 2018

2:00-3:15 p.m. – Parade from EHS through Henderson Center

7:00-9:00 p.m. – Bonfire District Office parking lot (open to students – no go list in effect)

Saturday – October 13, 2018 (All Games at EHS)

10:00 a.m. – Girls Tennis vs Del Norte

11:00 a.m. – Junior Varsity Volleyball vs Ferndale in Jay Willard

11:00 a.m. – Girls Soccer vs Ferndale in Albee Stadium

12:00 p.m. – Varsity Volleyball vs El Cerrito in Jay Willard

1:00 p.m. – Boys Soccer vs Ferndale in Albee Stadium

6:00 p.m. – Varsity Football vs St. Bernard’s
