SoHum Chamber’s Featured Business of the Week: Giant Redwoods RV & Camp

Southern Humboldt Chamber of Commerce

Every week the Southern Humboldt Chamber of Commerce features a business of the week. We’ll be sharing their posts here to celebrate our community.

This week’s “Business of the Week” is Giant Redwoods RV & Camp!

Giant Redwoods RV & Camp has been under new management since 2016 but the park itself has been around for over 20 years! Currently known to tourists and travelers as the “gem of Myers Flat”, this RV & Camp destination is a hidden oasis in the back parts of this small little town along the Avenue of the Giants.

The past two years have been spent upgrading and making many improvements to this one of a kind park! Brand new fencing encloses the park with an attractive front entrance speckled with greenery. The restrooms are clean, offering showers at no additional fee. In the winter time, the bathroom floors are heated, keeping your toes cozy and warm!

All RV sites have water, electric, cable TV & Wifi. There are also several pull thru-sites and back-in sites under the trees. Some sites have full hook up and they also have a separate pump out station if needed. Tent site locations are along the outside edge where most get a spectacular water/beach view!

With 55 RV sites and 24 tent sites available for use, Giant Redwoods RV & Camp is open year round! If you are thinking of staying on a popular holiday weekend such as Memorial, Labor Day or 4th of July, be sure to book in advance! The park fills up on these popular holiday weekends as well as in the summertime! Don’t forget about the Avenue of the Giant marathon weekend, runners enjoy time spent relaxing at the park after a long hard run!

The on-site camp hosts are there to greet you with years of experience and offer only the best in hospitality! A variety of beer, wine and of course ice cream is available to their guests!

With a perfect location on the Eel River and surrounded by giant old growth redwood trees, this campground offers something for everyone! A playground sits in the middle of the park inviting children to laugh and play!  Croquet , volleyball, bad mitten and horseshoes are just a few games offered for the families that visit here!

There is plenty of sunshine along with and abundance of trees to provide shade for those scorching hot summer days! With their own private beach and river access, the fishing is great during steel head season!

This park sits in the perfect location just a ¼ mile from the Avenue of the Giants and the Shrine Drive Thru Tree! If you are looking for a welcoming environment, peaceful and serene place to stay, consider reserving a spot at Giant Redwoods RV & Camp! What better way to experience nature than this destination location!

Giant Redwoods RV & Camp is located at: 400 Myers Avenue in Myers Flat CA.

Please have someone check your vocabulary prior to putting this to print. “Small, little town” – small and little refer to the same thing. Or at least they did when I was a child in school.

I used to live, with my family on Boyscout Camp Road in Myers Flat. That campground, in the 90’s was owned by a great couple with kids. My oldest boy, Matthew became friends & turned into a Raiders fan, parents are PACKER fans. After a big storm, my son went hopping, jumping downed trees & broke his collar bone.
Awesome place. Flooded every January.
I’m glad to come across this article. THANK YOU KIM😃😃😃😃😃😃 Brings back lots of memories.

Don’t have your out-of-town friend stay here if your local. They charge five dollars per car five dollars per person so if you and plus one want to say hi to friends it’s 15$. No swimming hole so you’re not going to the river. And they do have a tiny store but it’s hard to spend money there when they just charged you $15 for two people they never used to do that and these new managers have only been here less than a year

As far as I’m concerned you’re stepping over a dollar to pick up a dime.

It’s really a good place to camp. If you feel the need to use some real low grade crank you don’t have to travel very far to get it. Or if you want to spent the evening in a really dirty, dark, rat infested, shit hole bar, you don’t have very far to travel
