Plankton cultivation takes carbon from air. Current run off and sewage are not good for healthy algae. Inland sea plankton deposit is because of element content.that is because it was lowest point of continent before uprising of land from lowest to highest.element content makes nutrients better than NPK.or sewage(processed to bio solids).

Good to see this information spread. There are so many opportunities available at HAF due to a multitude of endowments. No enough people think it’s for them and apply.

Glad to see it.

I was surprised during our weekend summer tourist-like visit to Garberville that there wasn’t much of any family entertainment going on after hours. The movie theater has been closed for awhile, no live theater or productions, and not much of anything happening except for some late music in bars, we were told. Maybe with a grant like this someone could set up a simple movie night with a projector and a movie and have a small community get-together for families and kids? I suppose there are other things a group or someone could do. It could be very simple. An interesting lecture, presentation, slideshow, or someone’s visit to surf Jamaica. Anything could do.

Just a suggestion for the warm summertime evenings. The community is good and active and large enough, and it would be a small and nice cultural addition, something for the local and visiting folks to do. I was surprised it just wasn’t happening. Inertia, or maybe no one cares?

To note, my rural community in Freshwater comprises only 70 folks but we try to do stuff for everyone in the larger area because it’s just a good, welcoming, and active thing for us to participate in. It make us feel good about who we are and where we live. Garberville and SoHum can do the beautiful same! Why not? It doesn’t have to be a hard or big thing. In fact, small and simple works well.
