This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

On Aug. 30, 2018, at about 9:45 a.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies received citizen tips that a felony warrant subject, wanted by law enforcement since May, was in the area of the Miranda Market.

Deputies located the subject, 40-year-old Dennis Earl Hicks Jr. of Phillipsville, behind the Miranda Market. He was taken into custody without incident.

Hicks was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on two warrants for the following charges: vehicle theft, driving with a suspended license and failure to provide evidence of financial responsibility for a vehicle.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office recognizes the importance of working together with the community to make our county safer and would like to thank the Southern Humboldt residents who helped identify Hicks and notify law enforcement of his location.

  • more lovely people hanging around Humboldtfor the weed biz

  • Were gettin it with no lube

Snitchin has no honer, snitchin is spineless, unless there a child predator .we need to have a rattless society here now that the local government has decided to make 95% of os outlaws.

    • Stealing has no honor!

    • So if I see a guy steal cars and I know the person he steals from?
I’m a great person for letting him steal?
      Seems like a bitch move.

    • “Snitchin” may not be within a ‘code’ between one criminal to another but for law abiding citizens that want a better, safe and saner community in which to live in peace and harmony with their neighbors then informing law enforcement, assisting agencies and other people in the community that are working towards a place where people can live without fear is not only a good thing but it is the right thing to do … and in that it is the responsible thing, the honourable thing, the mature thing and the humane thing to do under all circumstances. If we all just turn a blind eye then we might as well gouge out our eyes, stuff up our ears, cut out our tongues and give up all our rights, flush the sense of right and wrong down the toilet along with all our hopes and dreams. We can stay and fight the crime with the LEOs and our friends/neighbors/community members or we can be part of the crime problem.

  • This kids always been a thieving little dirt bag!! I’m glad they got him. He’s not here for the “weed”, he was raised here. [edit] all the stealing he’s done over the years! Too many chemicals dumped into his system over the years!

  • He’s needs to be locked-up for a long time. He has been stealing and robbing folks for years. It’s actually hard to believe his is still alive based on his line of work and years of drug abuse. Wasn’t he tied to the lady in Miranda who got popped with all the pills, heroin, etc?

  • I would say maybe this will help him but I know it won’t . He has been on this path since he was just a kid . I still see that kid in there . Sucks .

  • Who wouldn’t smith off that low life thief?

  • As much time and effort I spent over the years protecting my property from this guy hope they manage to keep him

  • Looks like his soul is gone.

  • That dude look sad.

  • First off lets get this straight. Bottom line. The miranda stores cameras r tied to the sherriffs office. The county gets paid sideways and we all feel some kind of unbalanced justice. In some way.

Stay you. thrive hum. And let this dude out. People miss him…
