World class entertainment in a small, rural community?
Yep! Because we have the Mateel Community Center to hold (and sometimes to bring us) such events! …..Support it please!

God bless caril Bruno for giving the mateel a name in the world of entertainment, otherwise it would just ambe a community center . Now the mateel is trying to keep alive something that u fortunately she was really good at. Kinda like bill Graham. Mucisians wanted to play for them, and folks wanted to go to the shows…

Carol did some good things and some bad things. Her legacy (for better or worse, according to your point of view) will long be remembered.
She is ailing now, and I want to find my peace with her as, an important contributor to the So Hum community, and, like most people, as a fallible human being.
Blessings to Carol. Keep her in your prayers.
PS: Carol’s legacy is, as you infer, as a successful concert Producer. The Mateel is not trying to “keep alive” that aspect of the organization, but rather wants to step back from that and concentrate on focusing more on serving the community with having the facility more accessible to kids and the community during the week. Stay tuned. THE NEW MATEEL will be even more supportive of the community, if WE can HELP survive the financial crisis it now faces.

“Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect” ~ Chief Seattle

At what point will the “NEW MATEEL” see past its own shadow and support the other communities it is connected to, e.g. South Fork Eel River, threatened and endangered species, water quality and aquatic resources?

Just because you have sold Reggae on the River, doesn’t give you the rights to sell or lease the South Fork Eel River! No one owns the river or its community of indigenous species!

“Treat the earth well: it was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children. We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors, we borrow it from our Children.”
