At approximately 10:05 a.m., Cal Fire received the report of a structure fire in the 2400 block of Elk Creek Road which is in the Fruitland Ridge area east of Myers Flat. Flames are pouring out of the home but the fire doesn’t appear to be spreading to the surrounding vegetation.

Multiple local fire departments including Myers Flat and Fruitland Ridge were paged out.

The home is seriously involved but it doesn't appear to be spreading to the surrounding vegetation.

Great job local volunteer fire fighters to not let this do any more destruction. Glad all victims and FFs are safe.

Near the top of Elk Creek ROAD, not at the top of Elk CREEK. This is near Frost Lane, below the crest the ridge, which is where Elk Creek Rd. joins Dyerville Loop Road. The top of Elk Creek is at Elk Mountain, miles to the east of this. Sad. An older homestead and a multi generation family. I hope everybody’s okay. I hope they contain this fire.

Fire doesn’t seem to be spreading… I can hear them running saw cutting fire lines just in case though… THANK YOU to all the VFD’s and Cal-Fire that responded! I seen trucks from Fruitland Ridge, Myers Flat, Redway, Miranda (I’m pretty sure), Redcrest, and even as far away as a Rio Dell, not to mention all the Cal-Fire trucks and an inmate crew to help cut a fire line. Sorry if I left anyone out, none-the-less… THANK YOU!!! Prayers to the family, I hope y’all can pull through it Ok.

There was a facebook post with clothing sizes, I’ll try to find it. These folks lost everything, so pretty much anything helps. I’ll ask the poster to write on this page, too.
