They are involved in the dope trade by selling and renting gear to the dope grower?

Strange world it is when dope grower support says look at me.

Healthy communities need to be dope free, and a healthy environment for children.

Your $1000 fake dreadlocks are meaningless to me.

Logs, not losers.

A chamber of commerce (or board of trade) is a form of business network, for example, a local organization of businesses whose goal is to further the interests of businesses. Business owners in towns and cities form these local societies to advocate on behalf of the business community. Local businesses are members,

I run a business too, it has nothing to do with drugs, it is a profitable small business that provides a valuable well liked service to the community. I guess in today’s day and age you got to be a shinny gold toothed “legal” new venture slime to get recognized. I see the future now, where heroin dealers are recognized for their battles of achievement, those poor embattled drug dealers just trying to make their way in a sea of mean law enforcement trying to cut them down.

Are you a member of SoHum’s Chamber of Commerce? They are featuring their members. If you are, go ask. In the last few weeks, they featured a gift shop, a local winery, a state park gift shop, the local thrift store, a small spa and now Trim Scene Solutions.

Chambers can be helpful to small businesses. I love Humboldt and I see some tough times coming if people don’t work together. You might think about it.

Point taken Kym, although I like bashing anything that goes against the ideal “Americana” I need to understand where I live and that we are indeed headed into a new future, the fact that we are prosperous here is precious, we have lost fishing and logging, and I hate to see our future go to pot, but we have to pull together and support what we have, there could be a new change. Thanks.

Speaking of change, what ever happened to the growing HEMP plan? I thought Humboldt would be a great example for ALL things related to cannabis, other than getting high. There’s hemp oils, hemp paper, hemp cement, hemp seed. C’mon Humboldt…THINK! All of you go-getters start thinking big! Otherwise you will just be dope growing slaves. Be entrepreneurial ! Industries are waiting to be born here…get yourselves in position to farm hemp. Get a copy of the film Billion Dollar Crop by Bullfrog Films. Wise up! Rise up! Get educated!

Why would Humboldt be better than the valley for hemp production?

More HEMP… So what if all the smoking buds get seeded? It’s getting 2 crops in one! People only want to buy prerolled joints anyway, not to mention the limits on THC percentages allowable…Then you can even do what Monsanto did, sue the competition when your crop pollinates theirs. Hang on…it’s just getting started.

Cough…press release from the Southern Humboldt Chamber of Commerce. My attitude is pro-cannabis. My website is so freaking awkwardly trying to be unbiased that I end up reporting more negative than positive as you would see if you made an attempt to be unbiased yourself.

Kind of awkward having a weed business sponsored by CoC, with the news editor a member of,and then sending the press release out…
I’m surprised there aren’t coupon codes in there. Lol

Are there really nothing but weed businesses around Humboldt?

In my opinion, it is kinda fuddyduddyish to complain about a business organization supporting a legal business that is a member of the organization. And, even more quaint to complain about the news editor of a county world famous for marijuana posting a press release of a cannabis business.

You do realize that a good part of the free news you get here and every other local news site is supported by cannabis dollars. Trying to live in Humboldt without having your hands touching cannabis cash is like trying to live in Kansas without being touched by corn syrup cash.

You may not like cannabis and you are perfectly within your rights not to (and constructive criticism about the problems within the marijuana industry are always welcome) but try not to get too sniffy about others who believe that it is a part of a healthy local economy.

I don’t mind weed itself. It’s just so much that I feel folks forget about the constant barrage to children.
City leaders and press are really blowing their weed smoke in everyone’s face. Weed ads are in all local media.
Corn Syrup is a great example. Another product that was encouraged by cities, now a major scourge to kids.

I appreciate your reports from all perspectives, and the opportunity to be a quaint fuddy-duddy. Unfortunately, just because some “believe that it is a part of a healthy local economy.” Doesn’t quite make a healthy community.

My belief is almost no children read this site and should they, the worst that press release will show is that cannabusinesses are like other businesses. So I suppose that could “normalize” cannabis use. Similarly, when they focus on the vintner, that could “normalize” alcohol use. Or when they focus on a sweet shop that could “normalize” sugar consumption.

I normally don’t comment… but fuck TSS! I put a huge deposit on some equipment there, and they strung me along for a month, saying it was backordered from the supplier. I finally called the supplier who said they had no such issue, so I drove down to San Jose to pick up my gear. Supplier said TSS owed them a bunch of money. Of course TSS lied and denied that they were kiting my deposit. Once I got everything home, I realized a small part was missing. Drove an hour back down to Redway, and they insisted on charging me $70 for this small part that should have been included in my original ($10k!) order. Fuck that place. I tell everyone I know.

Dope is dope, drugs are drugs. Farmers farm, and drug dealers deal drugs. Chamber of commerce or not, this is a good example of what not to do around families and children…

Marijuana is not a building block for a strong community, and whether legal or not, money in drug dealing is what makes drugs evil.

Grow your own, trim it yourself, smoke all you want, but don’t expect anyone to approve!

AND, nobody needs to extract THC, or make oil. If you need to smoke oil, just get some heroin instead.

You know I’ve smoked a lot of grass
O’Lord, I’ve popped a lot of pills
But I mever touched nothin’
That my spirit could kill
You know, I’ve seen a lot of people walkin’ ’round
With tombstones in their eyes
But the pusher don’t care
Ah, if you live or if you die
God damn, the pusher
God damn, I say the pusher
I said God damn, God damn the pusher man
You know the dealer, the dealer is a man
With the love grass in his hand
Oh but the pusher is a monster
Good God, he’s not a natural man
The dealer for a nickel
Lord, will sell you lots of sweet dreams
Ah, but the pusher ruin your body
Lord, he’ll leave your, he’ll leave your mind to scream
God damn, the pusher
God damn, I say the pusher
I said God damn, God damn the pusher man
Well, now if I were president of this land
You know, I’d declare total war on the pusher man
I’d cut if he stands,
And I’d shoot him if he’d run
Yes, I’d kill him with my Bible
And my razor and my gun
God damn, the pusher
God damn, the pusher
I said God damn, God damn the pusher man

OH, and in Redway, most of the people who “deal pounds” also deal and sell Methamphetamine, Heroin, and Psychedelics. Ofter, these folks have a large selection of Pharmaceuticals and Cocaine, and, god knows what else? Poppers, Whippits?

Case of Beer, anyone?

Kym Kemp

Oh for god’s sakes, I tried to ignore this but…A very large proportion of Southern Humboldt “deals pounds.” Very few of them “sell Methamphetamine, Heroin, and Psychedelics.” I know you lived here but sometimes your vision of SoHum is so skewed that …heck, I had to edit myself for not being civil.

I actually edit myself often…

Lived in Lower Redway 5 years, then escaped without a drug habit! DON’T try to tell ME what goes on there…

I never:

-Bought a single pico-gram of SoHum weed, since it induces paralysis of the intellect and senses, and produces robots perfect for mindless manual labor! Just what the world needs!

People from L.A. ask me to bring them some weed from Humboldt, but they specify Sativa rather than Indica, since they know what happens when you smoke Humboldt Indica… I tell everyone that I can pick them up a pound of Meth in SoHum, but I wouldn’t smoke the weed grown there! Might not get up off the couch for a month…

If you want to support a high order drug habit, SoHum is the place to go. Just stop by the Motel in Garberville…

As far as a store that sells dope marketing supplies, it seems there would be plenty of competition. Amazon sells all that stuff, don’t they?

I would be ashamed to say I ran a drug-dealing support business. I hope someday the families in SoHum will begin to demand a more wholesome environment to raise kids in. Meanwhile, drive through Redway some time and observe the high fences everywhere that the residents feel they need for protection…

Geographically, SoHum is world-class beautiful, 4+, except for Garberville, which is a shithole, but, sociologically, Sohum is off the chart pathetic, probably the most pathetic place I have ever been, except for Bakersfield, which is in a class by itself! No one ever goes to Clear Lake, the town, but Clear Lake has far more class and pride than SoHum.

And everyone knows that Mendocino weed is better!

I never said I did drugs, you did. I don’t hang with that element, like you and I choose not to, like you. I just think its silly you think its here and only here. Drugs reach all corners of this earth and for you to think your immune from it, next to your neighbors house, is quite hilarious. You can move to Timbuktu, poor neighborhood or rich neighborhood, drugs are still around whether its directly in your face or passed under the shadows. By your comments, I’m glad you moved on and don’t work in our hospital, we don’t need people who judge before help. Working in a hospital is suppose to be about human compassion, which I read you have little of, maybe choose another profession. Good bye! Sayonara! Later!

We must know the languages we have to understand.

“That is not a drug. It’s a leaf,”
– Arnold Schwarzenegger, U.S. President Wannabe quote on Marijuana

“I think people need to be educated to the fact that marijuana is not a drug. Marijuana is an herb and a flower. God put it here. If He put it here and He wants it to grow, what gives the government the right to say that God is wrong?””
– Willie Nelson quote on Marijuana

“One’s condition on marijuana is always existential. One can feel the importance of each moment and how it is changing one. One feels one’s being, one becomes aware of the enormous apparatus of nothingness — the hum of a hi-fi set, the emptiness of a pointless interruption, one becomes aware of the war between each of us, how the nothingness in each of us seeks to attack the being of others, how our being in turn is attacked by the nothingness in others”
– Norman Mailer quote on Marijuana

“It really puzzles me to see marijuana connected with narcotics . . . dope and all that crap. It’s a thousand times better than whiskey – it’s an assistant – a friend.”
– Louis Armstrong quote on Marijuana

Smoking the flowers (cannabis that yields THC), of the hemp plant is not conducive to mind control.
Govern defined means control. Mente is Latin for mind.

“If the words “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” don’t include the right to experiment with your own consciousness, then the Declaration of Independence isn’t worth the hemp it was written on.”
– Terence McKenna quote on Marijuana

“Hemp is of first necessity to the wealth & protection of the country.”
– Thomas Jefferson, U.S. President quote on Hemp

“Make the most you can of the Indian Hemp seed and sow it everywhere.”
– George Washington, U.S. President quote on Hemp

“We shall, by and by, want a world of hemp more for our own consumption.”
– John Adams, U.S. President quote on Hemp

“The (FEDERAL) government of the United States is a foreign corporation with respect to a state.” In re Merriam, 36 N.E. 505, 141 N.Y. 479, affirmed 16 S. Ct. 1073, 163 U.S. 625, 411 L. Ed. 287.

“Cannabis and Hemp are of the same family”. Their uses are entirely different.

Hemp has many uses. Cannabis exists to make money for throwbacks.

Rope is one thing, clothing is another.

Drugs are entirely different.

Grow your own. Get the money out of drugs and the harm will abate.
