Vehicle Crashes and Catches Fire Near the Lord Ellis Summit on 299

At approximately 11:40 last night, a sedan went off State Route 299 near the Lord Ellis summit. According to the CHP page hosted on the Lost Coast Outpost, the vehicle went about 75 feet over the edge, caught fire and “completely burned.”

We’ve requested more information from the California Highway Patrol.

Less a bummer than it could have been. The entire neighborhood could be in flames.
What about the occupants? No word about the driver and/or passengers…

The driver was alone. He is is Santa Rosa having surgery for broken back 17 yrs old

Had his seat belt on so he is hurt pretty bad but still alive.
