Body Found in Laytonville Pond After Extensive Search
Southern Humboldt County Technical Rescue public information officer, Thomas Norris confirmed today that a body was found in the Laytonville area this morning. He said the body was found in a large pond/small lake on the 3000 block of Branscomb Road.
Norris said the man had been missing since Saturday when he was last seen on the dock during a party on the property.
Searchers from various agencies have been looking in and around the deep pond for the last several days. “Shawn Studebaker and I [from Southern Humboldt County Technical Rescue] performed a search with Kayaks yesterday,” said Norris. “Monday, [another search group] had some divers out there.”
Norris said his team showed up to search this morning but the missing man was located earlier.
We’ve requested more information from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Department and will update when we hear back from them.
