Vehicle VS Bicyclist in Fortuna

Just before 3 p.m., a vehicle struck a bicyclist near the intersection of Kenmar and South Fortuna Blvd.

According to a report over the scanner, the bicyclist is conscious and breathing. An ambulance is responding to the scene.

I didn’t see them!!! Sadly that is the most common excuse used when a 4 wheeled vehicle such as a car hits someone on a 2 wheeled vehicle!!!! I’m not saying that was the case here, because I don’t know the details but more than likely…!!!

You’re right you don’t know the case. The bicyclists lost its breaks on Ross Hill and collided with the SUV.

This is a weird screwy intersection. Poor design. Pedestrian area and bike lane on downhill part of Fortuna Blvd funnel everything into a blind section and brush. Very poor visibility.

Three of the four approaches to this intersection have bad visibility.

This was in my rear view mirror. Saw a kids bicycle laying in the crosswalk and someone running. It looked like a child – maybe a teenager.

Many cars therefore there were likely many witnesses.

‘Hope and pray for full recovery.
