SoHum Chamber’s Featured Business of the Week: Briceland Vineyards

Southern Humboldt Chamber of Commerce

Every week the Southern Humboldt Chamber of Commerce features a business of the week. We’ll be sharing their posts here to celebrate our community.

This week’s featured Business of the Week is Briceland Vineyards!

Briceland Vineyards first opened it’s doors back on August 3rd, 1985. Before the winery became a commercial enterprise, former owner Joe, was making wine with friends and winning awards in wine competitions.

From the beginning stages of the grapes on the vine, to the process of bottling it up, current owner Andrew Morris works hard at producing some of Humboldt finest award winning organic wines.

Whether you prefer a white, red, blush, sparkling flavor or any other, Briceland Vineyards has a variety of tastes to choose from!

There’s nothing more relaxing than spending a sunny Sunday afternoon, exploring the many different flavors of this locally owned and operated winery, and discovering just the right one to suite your palate!

This absolutely exquisite locally owned and operated vineyard recently hosted an Open House this past Memorial Day weekend and will be hosting another on Thanksgiving weekend.

Their summer hours are:

Open Sat. & Sun. 1-5 and by appointment. Please note that same day appointments are sometimes possible with a few hours notice.

Briceland Vineyards is located at 5959 Briceland Road, (75 yards up Ferren Road), Redway California

Note: Redheaded Blackbelt is a member of the Southern Humboldt Chamber of Commerce

It’s worth checking out! My kids love getting grapes off the vine when they’re in season.

Just down the road from me. Andrew, the vintner, is very warm and friendly and can arrange private wine tastings for small groups. Some of my favorite wines of theirs are the dry Rosé (fruity but not sweet like most American Rosés) and their Dark Horse Zinfandel. They’re well known for their Pinot Noir. Will be trying their award-winning Arneis, a white wine from grapes originally grown in Italy, soon. And best of all, their prices are very reasonable, around half of what you would pay for wines of similar quality in Napa or Sonoma. You can also buy them at Chautauqua and the local supermarkets.
