EPD Arrests Man After Pursuit Around Courthouse

This is a press release from the Eureka Police Department. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

On May 22, 2018, at about 7:13 p.m., an officer with the Eureka Police Department witnessed the driver of a Dodge Ram 3500 run a stop light near Broadway and West 14th Streets, nearly causing a collision. The officer activated his overhead lights and attempted a traffic stop but the driver failed to yield.

Backup officers responded as the driver continued east on 7th Street. Officers pursued while the driver drove around the courthouse about three times, violating multiple traffic laws. Ultimately the driver stopped on the 800 block of 4th Street and was taken into custody without further incident.

The driver was identified as 33 year old Dane Lawrence of Eureka. While officers were investigating, the Eureka Police Communications Center received a 911 call from the owner of the Dodge Ram. The owner said Lawrence did not have permission to drive the vehicle and requested to report it as stolen.

Lawrence was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for evading, vehicle theft, and Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) violation. The vehicle was not damaged and was released to the owner on scene.

With the courthouse also being the jail I’m betting he was earning himself some jailhouse respect from his soon to be housemates.

He’s beyond that. The choice of tattoo he put on his neck pretty much ended his chance of ever having any hope in this life. Maybe next time.

Am guessing he wasn’t too confident enough in the “tough guy look” though. He felt he had to tattoo “DANGEROUS” on the front of his neck.

How did we get to this point, when these young adults think what they are doing is the correct thing to do. Coupled with the ever present poor tattoo choices. Is anybody ever going to hire this piece of shit trash or anyone else with these types of tattoos to represent their company/business???

The answer…..Hell No.

Decisions, decisions, some people make poor ones, thankfully most make better ones. The problem I see is that the multitudes of these POS get out quickly and continue to plague the community.

He wanted to see a judge…Bill, these fools don’t ever plan on getting a job. Prison is their home; the short times they spend out here is just recess, time to play. Those neck tats are all the resume they need where they’re going.
