[UPDATE 6:05 p.m.: Fire Out] Fire on Hwy 169 Near Klamath

vegetation fire iconAt approximately 3:13 p.m., a fire was reported on Hwy 169 south of Klamath. Power lines are said to be down after a treefall.

The lines are sparking and starting a fire, according to a report listed on the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page.

Tribal and Fire are being notified.

UPDATE 3:53 p.m.: According to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page, the fire has burned a 1/4 acre and firefighters have closed both lanes.

UPDATE 5:18 p.m.: The road is open to one-way traffic control, according to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page.

UPDATE 6:05 p.m.: The fire is out and the roadway is clear, according to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page.

Is this really the “best” information they can give? Really? I didn’t loose power, didn’t see a fire. I’m 1.5 miles from Klamath on 169, which means this should have directly impacted me… Well, this pretty much (as described) should have been very close to my home…
