Arcata Needs Volunteers to Help Remove Invasive Plant Species in Community Forest This Saturday

Arcata, CA – The City of Arcata’s Environmental Services Department and the Humboldt Trails Council’s Volunteer Trail Stewards are seeking volunteers to help remove invasive plant species along Trail Number Five in the Arcata Community Forest.
This Volunteer Work Day will take place on Saturday, May 26 beginning at 9 a.m. and concluding with lunch between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.
Volunteers are asked to meet at 9 a.m. at the Community Forest Trail Number Five trailhead located near the top of Diamond Drive, and are advised to wear a long-sleeved shirt, work pants and boots, and to bring water. Gloves, tools, beverages and lunch will be provided.
