SoHum Chamber’s Featured Business of the Week: The Avenue Cafe

Southern Humboldt Chamber of Commerce

Every week the Southern Humboldt Chamber of Commerce features a business of the week. Starting today, we’ll be sharing their posts here to celebrate our community.

This week’s featured business of the week is The Avenue Cafe!

Many tourists and travelers come to Southern Humboldt just to take the tour through our giant, old-growth redwood forest. The 31mile stretch of the Avenue of the Giants leads you right into the cute little town of Miranda.

Located right off of Highway 254 you will discover where The Avenue Cafe first opened its doors in July of 2004, and has been thriving for the last 14 years!

This cute, cozy, inviting little restaurant, will welcome you with open arms and leave you walking away with a smile upon your face!

Mastering excellent service, delightful food in a friendly atmosphere, it is a wonderful place to stop and grab a bite to eat!

Offering a variety of foods from the menu, they serve anything from American style, Italian and even a touch of Mexican!

Whether it’s a fresh garden salad, a well-built sandwich, pasta, or the old-fashioned classic cheeseburger and fries, relax and enjoy a cold refreshing drink dining out on the patio!

What sets this memorable cafe apart from the rest, are their hearty breakfasts and being well known for having the best pizza around!

As you continue on your adventure creating unforgettable memories amongst our mighty redwood trees, stop in at The Avenue Cafe, any day! They are open 7 days a week from 8:00 am – 9:00 pm, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner!

  • Not just the best pizza around. The best pizza in the county, at least. Possibly the best pizza north of SF, maybe even the best on the entire west coast. Really, it’s THAT good.

    • red dont be shy tell us what you really think :). im going next bike trip. i needed a new place to stop

      • I was born and raised in the NYC area, I know of what I speak. I KNOW great pizza, I LOVE and LIVE FOR the perfect pizza. I am a self-proclaimed pizza critic. I used to miss NY style pizza more than anything from my childhood – until I discovered the Ave Cafe a few years ago. Now I get it whenever I want. 🙂

You should try it. REALLY. Try it ONCE and you will be convinced.

Note that I am not associated with this restaurant IN ANY WAY, other than my *very* occasional visits (4 or 5 times a year), and my passionate affair with their *perfect* pizza. (For you old school NYC/Jersey Shore area folks, directly compares to Ray’s Famous or Vic’s Tomato Pies)

Try it now, thank me later. I’ll be the guy at the corner table with sauce on my face and cheese in my beard, unapologetically scarfing down my 7th slice with peppers & onions.

(And if the cafe owners want to give me a free pizza for this testimonial, I’ll pay anyway – just to ensure they’ll still be here next week.)

  • Wasn’t the Avenue Cafe used in the film “Humboldt County” for the final scene?

  • Love the calzones

  • Pizza 🍕 and P’s 💪😂

  • Tuurkeee mellt mmmmm mmmm.

  • I love the cabo baha the best

  • The cafe’s great! But Sometimes I miss Harry’s Redwood Palace.

  • Anyone know what’s going in 2 doors down from it? Noticed there’s a permit request in the window looks like to serve food and alcohol.

  • I ride down there for breakfast a lot. Huevos Rancheros with chorizo. Mmmmmmm. But… don’t go there around the time the high school lets out for lunch, dem chilluns over run the place…

  • Good place!! Nice patio too. Especially am impressed that THEY HAVE GLUTEN FREE PIZZA!! A rare treat for those of us to forego gluten!!

    • Gluten free? Yippee!!!!!!!
I was lamenting that I would miss out on some really great pizza and now I don’t have to. 🙂
