Great photo !
Dayum talk about TOO close!!!
I second that exclamation!
WHOEVER SURVIVED THAT IS ALIVE FOR A REASON !! YOU HAVE NOT FULLY ACCOMPLISHED YOUR MISSION HERE ON EARTH ! DO NOT WASTE YOUR OPPORTUNITY ! HOW MANY CHANCES DO WE REALLY GET TO DO OUR LIVES RIGHT?
or….THE DRIVER WAS VERY LUCKY AND SHOULD LEARN TO SLOW DOWN? Hows that for a ‘mission’? Saves lives too!
I’m not local, but worked in that area all last summer. That road may not be hwy 36, but it still requires respect from those driving it. Lots of places to screw up & end up like that. Glad there were no bad injuries.
Holly cow so so lucky.wow & good pitcure to
The utility pole may well have prevented the vehicle from going over the cliff. Someone got really lucky.
The utility pole did in fact save this young mans life.
The gorge is crazy steep and deep there, if it’s where I think it is. No one would survive going over the edge.
A Ford
After years of driving 299, congratulations for not rolling over the edge! You may want to make some changes, like trade your pickup for an Acura, stop doing drugs and alcohol, and find a personal mission coincident with the Universal Forces that appear to have been testing you… You are obviously not due to be removed from this plane, but the great magnet sometimes allows only one screw-up…
I have always viewed driving 299 as playing Russian Roulette.
36 isn’t much better.
For that matter – US 101 is turning into a reason to stay home, as well.
Suspend their license
YIKES
Not only was this driver lucky, every one of us who did NOT happen to be driving in the immediate vicinity was lucky, too. Imagine just innocently driving along and having this hunk of metal hurl itself into your path and knock you off the edge. Yikes!
Driving cautiously is not just to save your own skin. It’s the civilized thing to do.
The accident shown in the picture is actually at mm 11 at McDonald’s Bluffs in Burnt Ranch. The accident at mm 32 near Berry Summit was a separate incident earlier in the evening.
I was beginning to suspect that and had intended to call the CHP today to figure out what had occurred. Thank you. I’ve updated it now just to report on the latter incident.
