After one body was found this weekend near the vicinity of Juan Creek off Hwy 1 on the Mendocino Coast, searchers are renewing their efforts today to locate the bodies of children missing from the vehicle that smashed into rocks at the edge of the ocean on March 26.

The Hart family’s history has been the subject of intense scrutiny after the lifeless bodies of both parents and three of their six adopted children were found in and around their vehicle. Mendocino County Sheriff Tom Allman told CNN, “I’m to the point where I no longer am calling this an accident; I’m calling it a crime.”

Though the parents were first thought to have been seatbelted and the children not, a later investigation determined that all were not wearing safety restraints.

Today, the Sheriff’s Department announced,

On 04-09-2018 at 11:00 AM approximately 10 searchers from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Search & Rescue team will be conducting a search of the vicinity of the crash site in an attempt to locate any of the missing children and physical evidence.

The California Highway Patrol will be assisting in the search by providing a helicopter for aerial search purposes.

A low tide is expected for this time of the day and should provide the best conditions for searchers.

Ongoing updates/photos will also be posted on the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office facebook page as information becomes available (https://www.facebook.com/MendocinoSheriff).

If the ‘accident’ was intentional, a guard rail would not have prevented it from happening.

??? I thought that people were getting pretty fanciful but a 2003 GMC being electronically hijacked? In the middle of nowhere? That’s a huge reach.

I looked up reported sudden acceleration problems for the reported vehicle but there was none.
