Resident Fires Rounds to Keep Three From Assaulting Man Who Later Fled From Hospital and Allegedly Shoplifted Alcohol…

This is a press release from the Eureka Police Department. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

Elliott Greer

On March 15, 2018, at about 7:36 p.m., officers of the Eureka Police Department responded to the 200 block of West 15th street for a report of shots fired. During the investigation, officers located the victim who did not sustain any gunshot wounds.

The victim, identified as Elliott Greer (42 years old of Eureka), reported that he was being chased by two males and a female causing him to run to a nearby residence for assistance.

The males and female began physically assaulting Greer on the porch of the residence. The uninvolved resident exited his home brandishing a firearm in an attempt to stop the assault.

The suspects continued to assault Greer at which time the resident fired two rounds into the air causing the suspects to flee on foot. Officers searched the vicinity however were unable to locate the suspects.

Greer was transported to St. Joseph’s hospital for treatment. Prior to being seen by ER staff or providing a statement to officers, Greer voluntarily left the hospital on foot. Greer was soon located walking near the intersection of Harris and Dolbeer Streets, after shoplifting two bottles of alcohol and various items from Safeway. Greer was taken into custody for public intoxication and transported for booking at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.

This is an open investigation, any further details will be released as they become available.

I don’t own assault weapons. I own defense rifles. Very valid point. I love the argument that people say Semi auto weapons are not for hunting. I didn’t buy mine in the lew of hunting. I bought mine to protect myself from drug addict mentally deranged criminals. So there…. this world is only changing for the worst. I will countie to fight for my gun rights. Sorry left. You lost.

And that it is “evil”! All my guns are cal legal. The most stringent in the United States. That’s because I’m a law abiding citizen..

Another example of why people living in Eureka should consider moving to Haiti which, in contrast, ISN’T a s***hole…

I heard the fight. Someone was yelling at the victim for “touching his sh*t”. Looks like the victim/thief decided to go find his own brand of pain killer. :/ At least my neighbors were OK.

Yeah because cannabis had so much to do with this scenario,,, NOT. You notice It was alcohol that was the culprit.

He chased a minor to his home and was screaming for his dad to come out also looked like he was brandishing in that direction so dad mom and minor chased him down and gave it to him he was the aggressor and rightly so got a beat down then we have the guy come out and start firing in the air Wich by the way scared every kid in a 2 block radius
