[UPDATE 3:44 p.m.] A Man Trespassing Under a Business Got Combative With Arcata Police
Before 3 p.m. this afternoon, Arcata Police backed by University Police arrived at the 4600 block of Valley West Boulevard in Arcata. We don’t know why they are there but one witness described them wrestling with a man.
We’ve requested more information from Arcata Police but have not heard back from them.
UPDATE 3:44 p.m.: According Arcata Police Watch Commander Richard Bergstresser, “We had a trespasser underneath the building and he decided to fight…We believe he was under the influence of an unknown drug. And he was extremely combative.”

lmao! that was some funny shit! you forgot teeth count!
Why is that part of town such a shit hole?
Once there was a river running through that hole, more than a 100 years ago, and the water was clean
except for some fish shit.
Now it’s just dog doo
Some agency started giving out vouchers that allowed homeless to stay in the motels along Valley West, more homeless showed up to take advantage of the situation. Fast forward 10 ir 15 years, tada, shithole.
Perspective , The same reason Detroit, Chicago, San Diego,Baltimore, St Louis, Oakland, San Francisco ECT. have turned into such shitholes.
Its seems to be concentrated in this particular area.
there’s trailer parks at those location? or are you referring to the section 8 complex with solar?
Because they’re all run by Democrats?
Low income housing, they always become ghettos for some reason.
You also have all that vegetation for ‘camps’ and the green belt area, cheap eats and lots of places to buy liquor. Unknowing tourist come through and stop … and are greeted by some of the transient population who can contribute willing or unwillingly to their causes…
There are cheap places to eat in Humboldt County?
The dollar tree is in Valley West shopping center.
Hilarious, but true.
Maybe a neighborhood watch would help.
