Saturday, Dustyn Salomon, former South Fork High graduate, raced to 1st place finishes in both the 1200 meter and the 3200 meter at the Humboldt State annual Green and Gold track meet. Salomon is a 2014 graduate from Miranda High School where he played soccer all four years and ran Cross Country and Track and Field.

…His last year of high school he ran in the Napa Valley Trail Marathon as part of his senior project. He completed this tough course in 3 hours and 23 minutes.

After graduating he wanted to further his education and study Psychology and continue to run. He decided to stay close to home and attend Humboldt State University. They had both a new Psychology building and a running program. He walked on the team as a freshman and proved to the coach he belonged there. After his first year they gave him a scholarship to run…These are his best times so far in college. 1 mile (4:10), 400 meters (53 sec)*1 lap, 800 meters (1:57) *2 laps, 1500 meter (3:55), 3000 meter steeplechase (9:08), 2 mile (9:17), 5k (15:19), 10k (31:58). Dustyn is hoping to make it to Nationals this year in the steeplechase.
Dustyn is graduating this May from Humboldt State University with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a minor in business.

Once a graduate, always a graduate. How does someone become a “former graduate”?
Did he graduate of not?
