Forest Service Temporary Closing of Weaver Bally Road for Cable Logging Operations

REDDING, Calif. — Weaver Bally Road (Forest Road 33N38) on the Weaverville Ranger District will be temporarily closed for at least two five-day periods between Feb. 12 and March 31 for public safety during cable logging operations on property held by Sierra Pacific Industries. The five-day closure periods will be weather dependent and will occur on weekdays, beginning at 6 a.m. Monday morning and conclude at 6 p.m. the following Friday evening, leaving the roadway open for public travel on weekends.
The closure will start at the turnout just south of Section 25 (Milepost 2.86) and end at the intersection with Section 26 (Milepost 4.60) for a total of 1.74 miles. There will be signs placed on Weaver Bally Road near Hwy 299 and further north beyond existing private property access to notify the public in advance of the five-day periods.
