Why is it that everyone but me seems to be able to get their hands on fully automatic rifles?

Because you’re probably trying to do it legally.
(edit) Scratch that, I read your message as assault rifle, not fully automatic rifle. That, you can’t do legally anyway in CA so my statement doesn’t apply.

Apparently most police and California citizens don’t know the difference between an assault rifle and a semi-automatic rifle, so any gun that looks scary to them they just call it an assault rifle. Fully automatic rifles are actually pretty hard to get, unless of course you’re a criminal and you don’t follow laws anyways…

only someone foolish would want an f/a in this state. mandatory min. being what they are even semi auto verses non, makes no logical sense, however you know a bullet from a scary looking weapon is more deadly then one from just a normal looking weapon…… so scary looking weapons should be banned and owners punished more. Lets condem people for judging based upon looks and unrational fear, unless it has to do with things we dont agree with, then by all means ban block judge and lock folks up

Actually more and more it looks like it pays to be a criminal in California.

As they tighten restriction on lawful gun owners.

i see that but a crime with a gun is a crime with a gun, it shouldnt be another 10 years because it was a semi auto or 10 years less because it was a shotgun. the type of gun shouldnt make the differance is the point i was making
