[UPDATE 10:08 p.m.] Thomas Road Closed Due to Downed Tree

At approximately 6:15 p.m. a tree went down on Thomas Road west of Grenz Lane and hung up in some power lines. Though some vehicles made it past initially, the road, located west of Miranda is now shut down.

According to Denton Carrick of Humboldt County Public Works, PG&E has called a tree removal company to clear the tree. At this point (8:30 p.m.), it isn’t known how long it will be before the road opens, but the tree company is on their way.

UPDATE 9:53 p.m.: The tree removal company is on the scene.

UPDATE 10:08 p.m.: The road is open!
