And, Then Aftershock! 5.0 Quake This Time
According to Redwood Coast Tsunami Group, there was a
5.0 aftershock of this morning’s M 5.8 offshore of Cape Mendocino. The 5.8 was at 8:39 am PST and the 5.0 was at 9:24 am. Nothing too unusual about these earthquakes. The Mendocino fault is one of the most seismically active areas of the state. But they are a good reminder that we live in earthquake country and a larger or closer quake could happen at any time. Didn’t feel a thing up here in Bridgeville!!!
It may be a coincidence, but my power was interrupted at around 8:40 this morning for an instant. Had to reset my clocks. Hummm.
With all the lightening, thunder, wind, rain, hail and snow due to the storm, the earthquake has to compete.
Didn’t notice either of them in Eureka, and normally notice significantly smaller ones. Perhaps it’s that these were farther out than many we get nearer Petrolia.
The more and more the little ones build up, the more deadly the ¨big one¨ will be, it will destroy half of California. after the earthquake stops California will be floating in the water.
