City of Eureka Revamps Highland Park Basketball Court
This is a press release from the City of Eureka – Recreation Division:
Eureka City Council member Natalie Arroyo joined members of the Rotary Club of Southwest Eureka, city officials and community members at the dedication of the revamped Highland Park basketball court on Saturday. President of the Rotary Club of Southwest Eureka Matt Nilsen was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation for the effort and funding contributed by the club to the project. The Southwest Eureka Rotary provided funding for the court and fence renovation from proceeds from its signature June event, Martinis By The Bay. Mercer-Fraser Company donated the asphalt re-surfacing of the court and Hamanaka Painting Company donated the striping of the court and painting of the center court Rotary logo. Eventually 13 1/2 foot lighting stanchions will be added to Highland Park as part of the renovation project.

With no location mentioned I had to search for it. Highland Park is up behind Fort Humboldt.
Glen Street….
used to have an old ship in the park junkies would needle up in and smoke marijuana. The ship is gone, the baseball field is nice, and the city is quick to paint over the gang tags.
The alley by the round about used to be full of hookers, but EPD cleared them out.
The area is full of junk Pierson homes and isn’t anywhere you’d want to raise children, due to drugs, weirdos, grow houses, and gangs.
The city has really put some effort into the park, but the neighborhood is bad.
A few houses down was where that guy shot himself three times in the head and blew up the house using the gas line about ten years ago.
Highland Park should be renamed Mos Eisley after Star Wars, more fitting than the Henry Ford reference.
Did he shoot himself in the head 3 times before or after using gas lines to blow up the house?
Would he be interested in blowing up basketballs?
