[UPDATE] Rescuers Rush to Vehicle With Man and Infant Inside That Crashed Into Coffee Creek Near Ferndale
A vehicle went into Coffee Creek off Coffee Creek Road near Ferndale at approximately 6:10 p.m. Two people, one man and one infant, are trapped according to information on the scanner. Eel River Technical Rescue and Ferndale Fire, as well as other agencies, are responding.
UPDATE 6:27 p.m.: Dispatch is canceling the Technical Rescue team. All patients are out of the vehicle, reports the Incident Commander. An ambulance and Ferndale Fire are on the scene.
UPDATE 6:30 p.m.: “No medical team needed,” reports emergency personnel over the scanner.
UPDATE 6:31 p.m.: “All Ferndale units are clear of the scene,” reports personnel from the scene.
UPDATE 6:50 p.m.: The vehicle went into a flooded area of Coffee Creek Road and got stuck. The male and the infant were able to get out.
UPDATE 7:09 p.m.: “Water is halfway up on vehicle,” according to information on the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page.
