Rio Dell’s Wildwood Avenue Will Have a New Sculpture on the Median Starting Saturday

This is a press release from the Rio Dell Chamber of Commerce:

The second in a series of four sculptures by Eureka artist Dan McCauley is scheduled to be installed in Rio Dell Friday, Jan. 19 at noon.  The sculpture, of a cougar, will be placed on the median of Wildwood Avenue just north of the intersection with Columbus.  Last year the first sculpture, of an owl, was placed farther south on Wildwood, and two additional pieces will be put on display in coming months, farther north.

The project, called Sculptures on the Avenue, is a project of the city, chamber of commerce and the Eagle Prairie Arts District, to highlight the rich arts community and to provide points of interest for visitors to the business area.

It’s too bad the cop smashed the shroom patch on the off-ramp there at Wildwood, they would have made this new sculpture really pop;<)
