Foot Pursuit Captures Man Wanted for False Imprisonment

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

Matthew Gary CastonA wanted felon was taken into custody Friday night following a foot pursuit in the Eel River Valley.

Around 11:57 p.m. Jan. 12, 2018 sheriff deputies were dispatched to the Bear River Casino for the report that felony warrant suspect Matthew Gary Caston, 37, was inside. Upon arrival, deputies observed Caston walking on the sidewalk near the east side exit of the casino. Deputies attempted to contact Caston, who then fled through the parking lot and jumped a fence. Deputies pursued Caston for approximately one-fourth mile.

Caston was arrested for resisting a peace officer, in addition to his felony warrant for false imprisonment.
