Changes Made to Inmate Mail Accepted by the Humboldt County Jail
Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department:
The Humboldt County Correctional Facility is changing its policy on inmate mail in an effort to increase safety and security by deterring the introduction of contraband in the facility.
Beginning Feb. 1, 2018, the Correctional Facility will only be accepting incoming mail that is written on plain/lined white paper or postcards. The facility will no longer be accepting greeting cards, letters on colored paper, or letters on cardstock paper. Any mail received that is not on white plain/lined paper will be returned to the sender with a notification for the return.
Inmates may still continue to receive pictures that are no larger than 5”X7”.

I DIDNT THINK ANYBODY STAYED LONG ENOUGH TO RECEIVE MAIL. AFTER READING COMMENTS ON HERE.
Great comment sir. You won the black belt for today😁
I would hope the county has a drug sniffing K-9 with the amount of drug use in Humboldt. There can’t be that much mail to inmates on a daily basis, so have the K-9 sniff through the mail each day. Probably take a total of 20 minutes.
So, seriously, do we need to all pitch in and get you a working keyboard? or…?
(I have a couple old ones you could have).
With our judges I honestly don’t think anyone stays in jail long enough to receive a letter.
Instead of further crapping on inmates and families They should vet their employees more carefully. They had one of the worst and most viciously depraved criminals around working there for years without anyone being the wiser.
