‘Who Uses The Spring?’

Tracker Kim Cabrera shared with us this game camera footage of a small spring she found on an abandoned road in the forest.

Cabrera writes:

This is the water source for numerous animals in late summer and early fall. In this video, I show who uses the spring. You might be surprised at the variety of animals here!

Cabrera makes regular videos on nature. You can subscribe to her YouTube channel for more informative short videos on the natural world around us here in the Emerald Counties.

“You might be surprised at the variety of animals here!” … That’s a pretty typical assortment of the most common animals in the area.

Here’s a thought. Perhaps she has a wider audience than just you. Perhaps people without your post-graduate level of southern Humboldt county fauna diversity knowledge watch her videos. THEY might just actually “be surprised at the variety of animals here!”. Could something possibly NOT be about you? In your mind I’m guessing not.

Cryptozoologists are the worst. Always cranky that Bigfoot won’t come to tea.

Shhhhhhhh! Don’t let the Water Board see this! They will consider the spring jurisdictional and may forbid the “numerous animals” from using that spring from May to October! 😉

Amazing assortment of animals come to drink here. I would probably have just walked right by something like this without paying it any special attention. But now I will definitely be looking at things differently.

I have a brother that lives in the mountains that I might see twice a year and the thing I love to ask him is have you seen any critters around your place? Thank you for sharing. Wonderful.
