Stolen Vehicle, One Detained Near Fernbridge

Scanner traffic

According to the scanner, about 7 a.m. a deputy with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office found a stolen vehicle in the Fernbridge area. Details aren’t clear but it appears the vehicle may have been parked when the deputy located it. There were two occupants–a man and a woman. The deputy attempted to detain the couple but the man fled. The deputy called for backup while detaining the woman. A California Highway Patrol officer arrived to assist some time later.

The deputy then attempted to locate the suspect who fled–a Native American male wearing “old style Air Jordans” and a beanie. Deputies and officers are still in the area attempting to locate the suspect as of 7:30 a.m.

Just drove by, looks like that silver BMW that was stolen and taken south where it out ran law enforcement yesterday. Came back up here. Nice new looking car.
