Fortuna Woman Dies in Lake County Accident New Year’s Eve

The Lake County News is reporting that Donna Jean Farfan, age 57 died in a car crash near Clearlake Oaks on Hwy 20. Below is a press release on the accident from the California Highway Patrol before the deceased woman’s name was released. Her name has been added into the report in brackets.

On 12-31-2107, at approximately 1:19 pm, [Donna Jean Farfan] was driving her 2011 Ford sedan westbound on SR-20 near Harvey Boulevard, in Clearlake Oaks. Mr. Kern was driving his 2017 Chevrolet SUV eastbound on SR-20. For an unknown reason, [Farfan] allowed her Ford to cross over the double yellow lines into the eastbound oncoming traffic lane. As a result, the front of the Ford collided head-on with the Chevrolet. After the collision, [Farfan] was pronounced deceased at the scene. Mr. Kern and Mrs. Sholian, his passenger, were transported to Sutter-Lakeside Hospital and treated for major injuries. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in this collision.

  • I’m so sorry for the lost of this person who sounds like a very good person, I was first to reach her at the accident because it was right in front of my home, I want you all to know that she did not suffer, it was instant, I was at her vehicle within 15 to 30 seconds. She is resting now in Jehovah God’s memory for the resurrection of many others……

    • I passed the accident that occurred on Hwy 20, new years eve, about 5 minutes after it happened. I’m in a congregation in the small town of hughson, ca.. Can’t wait until the last enemy, death, is no more.
