Elk River Road is NOT near Humboldt Hill, it is far closer to Cutten and the Municipal Golf Course, SOUTHWEST of Humboldt Hill.

442. Think you need to get a map out. Berta/Elk River right at foot of Humboldt Hill.

The difference is probably how it’s driven. Berta Rd can be accessed from Elk River Dr , where the accident was, by crossing Elk River there. While Humboldt Hill is accessed by going over Elk River on 101 then accessing far from where the accident was.

Strange that all these years I never thought of their proximity as, as the old joke puts it , you can’t get there from here. According to one map, Berta never touches 101. According to another it is directly accessible to 101. I’ve drive all over that area and never found a direct connection to 101 but it would not surprise me if there was one.

How very Humboldt Co. I too live on a road the county maps show elsewhere while Google maps sort of gets it right. With the wrong name. Handy if you don’t want drop ins. One of Humboldt’s endearing attributes IMHO.
