Ron Machado: ‘An Avid Family Man’

This section includes both obituaries and memories. Honoring our loved ones who have died does not end immediately after their passing. We recognize that… so we’re extending our obituary section to include individuals who may have left a long time ago. If you want to remember someone who is gone, either recently or longer ago, please send a photo and a few sentences to [email protected]. Tell us why you would like to honor the person–is it their birthday, the date of their passing or some other date of significance to you.

I will miss Ron deeply. He was a family man but also treated friends like family. He was a good ol boy and those are far and few these days. My thoughts are with his family now.

Sending condolences and sympathy to Ron’s family, many of whom I met when they hired my band, NightHawk, for a party years ago. Lovely and fun folks! Since then, Ron has been a familiar and happy face whenever we play Bear River. Glad I got to give him a hug the last time I was there, and we will be sending up one of his favorite songs for him the next time. I have a feeling I’ll keep looking for his smiling face.
