Man Arrested After Assaulting Woman in Jail Lobby

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

A Eureka man is back in custody after assaulting a female in the Humboldt County Correctional Facility Lobby.
Maxwell Castle, 26, had just been released from the facility on Dec. 11, 2017 around 5 p.m. when he reportedly accused a female in the lobby of stealing his money. Castle grabbed the victim’s wrist causing injury. Correctional deputies detained Castle until sheriff’s deputies arrived. Castle was booked into custody on assault and battery charges.

Thats twice this year somebody got out and assaulted somebody right in the lobby.I was there at 630 all was calm.

It seems pretty clear he has mental health issues, but is keeping him in jail the best option for anyone? A revised Measure B passed here in Mendocino the second time around. Is there any organized effort to put something similar on the ballot for Humboldt?

Right?!?! Revised Measure B? Interesting…yes please more info…voting in local areas we have more voice than anything State or Federal. Obviously the “voting for a President” is untrue, as the Electoral Vote is who REALLY picks the POTUS!
