This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office has received several complaints of duck hunting near the Hammond Trail in McKinleyville.
According to county code, shooting a firearm is prohibited in the area along the Mad River west of the Hammond Trail, beginning at the trail’s foot bridge and ending at the southern border of Clam Beach.
We would like to remind all duck hunters and anyone shooting a firearm for sport to avoid this “No Shooting Zone” of Mad River.
