  • What were yo-hos like these doing in possession of a military-style assault weapon? Beats the hell out of me. Marijuana, okay, large quantities of it. But the artillery? Real smarty-pants, too, from the narrative: just sitting there in a parked car, like doop-dee-doo…

  • Lundbar Hillbilly

That looks like a shotgun, not a rifle.

    • That’s not a military style assault rifle. That’s a pieced together tweeker AR. Why they have shotgun shells is a mystery….nice face pick marks. At least they can get a thanksgiving dinner at the humboldt Hilton. Nice job LE

    • You apparently have zero idea what your talking about

  • Weed, weed, hard drugs, guns and more weed. It certainly is the devil’s lettuce

  • >”That looks like a shotgun, not a rifle.”

Shotgun shells may not match the rifle. Interesting.

  • When people have no fear of consequences because those consequences are meaningless, this behavior will never end. Laws have to be specific, strict and followed through by courts and judges. Other than a 6 month sentence suspended and 5 years probation, people need to put in jail/prison for years; and know that will happen. Won’t stop everyone, but definitely would have an impact.

  • tired of all this

    Crime? In Redway?
    I’m shocked.

  • Is that Joe shibler?

    • Joseph Shibbler/ Cullen?… Whats it going to take to get this jerk behind bars?…He has to be a total snitch to even be anywhere close to fresh air.. this guy is a wart on the ass of progress. His arrest record is as long as my arm. ..Mother beater , crank head, wastrel.. Thanks to the police for bumping into him.He will have to snitch on 10 people to be set free.. Youlll see him in 6mos on the street!

    Was the residence searched?

  • Definitely not a military style assault rifle, looks like a walmart special.

  • How is it these young folks are always pot-marked with open sores. Tweeking meth heads I suppose.

  • A scanner lightly

Oh that’s right, if you pay it is

  • Did some looking around.

Gun looks like a variant of the ‘AR-12’. Auto shotgun.
If so… that is a nasty weapon to be on the ‘wrong end’ of.

  • The most stooooopid peole, in the news.

  • The shotgun shells are not compatible with this rifle. Looks like a nice Target Model, AR-15 in .223. Bet it was stolen, and a grip added. California just eliminated the gun crime enhancement of 10 years, so he will probably walk. Otherwise, he was looking at 10 years. Good find by the deputies!

  • They’ll be back.

  • >”The shotgun shells are not compatible with this rifle.”

Dunno. That’s what I thought at first… but… I did a lot of searching on the web… was surprised at the auto shotguns out there.

But it might be a modified paintball gun too.
The appendage at the bottom of the grip.
Thing underneath the barrel… That maybe an attachment for the cylinder.

    Google ‘paintball guns assault rifles’.
    See what happens in court.

Google ‘AR-12 Shotguns’ and ‘Paintball guns Assault’ and look at the images.

    • Its a 12 gauge AR clone

    • This one is 223/5.56 with a fluted barrel, look at the mag mag well/barrel/ejection port, there is no way a shotgun shell would fit, but it doesn’t matter these turds shouldn’t be allowed to have a spoon, good job HCSD, check out the law Jerry brown just killed, it does away with more punishment for gun crimes, seriously in this state that is so restrictive on legal gun owners, he just gave all criminals a pass on crimes committed with firearms, insane! Wtf. Also there must be a criminal around with a shotgun somewhere why else have the ammo, keep looking.

  • I moved here in ’86 part of the second generation, one rule we abided by was no guns. Mixing guns in with pot could get you sent to prison. That rule seems to be completely gone these days. We also left out pills and powders.

    • Haha, left out powders in the 80’s that’s funny. I wasn’t alive then but everyone that I’ve talked says you’re wrong on that one!

    • Which convent were you at?

    • You're like the 30th of people to live here

2nd gen? Um folks been living here since before white people and Spanish people and growers. I’m tired of hearing growers and grower families or anyone claim clought because of how long they or they family have been somewhere. This is def one of the strangest local pride cultures in the country. So feel good about being a “2nd” ,gen what? Rapist? Spaniard? Grower? Either was we are all children if immigrants to this part of the world from another part. Even most native Americans are diluted with euro blood.

  • stupid is as a stupid does!
  • They call the ar15 an assault rifle because it’s used by good people to stop the bad people. Even Joe Biden admitted this in so many words.
While I agree that they, of all people, probably shouldn’t have a weapon, I don’t agree that MY reasons outweigh their own. They have just as much of a right to defend themselves from psycho’s as the person who is not yet thrown in the slammer for not paying the fine for jay walking.

No victim means there was no crime.

The biggest crime here, is the voters who value their own life, but who do not value the lives of others.

  • Have drugs= threesome with chickenheads

  • Seems like these career criminals commit a worse crime each time they are let out.

Why would any judge have let them out?

    • SNITCH! THATS HOW!

      • Nope, its because over the years Voters have voted to reduce punishment and sentences for crimes to the point where criminals have almost more rights than law-abiding citizens. Just this year they have passed new laws to punish law-abiding citizens that have owned rifles for years but on the same hand have reduced sentences for gun related crimes…

  • Trillium Hummingbird

There is no good reason to own an AR-15 or ANY kind of .223 semi auto… Nobody needs this, especially meth-heads…

  • It’s really hard to get good help these days.

  • Dan Fuller, wannabe.

[edit] The gun is a ar-15, conversion upper for a 12 guage, they are using the wrong ammo, you need ras12 shells. Any of you [edit] can walk into darrens, or “browns” in garberville and have you order all of these peices and attatchments for your rifles.felons can legally buy the .357 bulldog air rifle, that’s strong enough to take out a deer.

    • No it’s absolutely not, And Felons can’t legally possess any gas powered weapon that’s shoots a projectile, not even a B.B. gun. Dan is 1000 times smarter than you, [edit]

  • Found the best answer on another board…

    “————-
It’s an AR-15/Modern Sporting Rifle variant using largely DPMS upper parts, probably a complete DPMS Panther model of some sort. Stainless fluted bull barrel (probably from a Wilson blank), no muzzle device. DPMS bull bbl gas block. DPMS Hot Rod free floating handguard, with handstop. DPMS Lo Pro receiver (no forward assist, deflector, or door). That heinous grip is missing the bottom PSG style base. I think the adjustable competition stock is known as an Ironstone, offered by DPMS in the mid 1990s to early 2000s, which is when I date this gun. This was before Randy Luth sold DPMS to Freedom Group.

Other site… posted photos of the components… which were the same as the sheriff’s post.
    Very interesting gun.
