Another Highway 36 casualties to add to the long long list of crashes
WHEN will people wake up and quit blaming the road/trees/weather/anything but themselves?? ITS THE DRIVERS.
Especially in these wet weather conditions!!!! Losers not wearing their seat belts either does NOT HELP, at all!!! I’m chalking this up to MAJOR driver error!!!! First off ALWAYS wear the damned seat belt!!!! Then slow down on this narrow, winding, mountain road especially in wet weather!!! The life you save may be mine or possibly even YOUR OWN!!!!!
And how hard is it to put on a seatbelt?
Not very hard at all, but some people feel that the law is the government way overstepping their bounds. Just like the helmet law in this state. Infringing on personal freedoms. I don’t even buy all the BS about the government actually caring about the citizens while they continue to allow countless big industries to flourish selling stuff that is killing the population. It is just because the insurance companies have big and powerful lobbies. With that being said if a person so chooses to not use one they must also accept responsibility for whatever happens to them as a result.
Unfortunately, often the victim is unable to pay the medical bills for the injuries, so the rest of society (the government) ends up paying, so the government creates a law to protect its citizens from themselves.
“With that being said if a person so chooses to not use one they must also accept responsibility for whatever happens to them as a result.”
Therein lies the problem. We are living in a society and our actions affect others. First responders, medical professionals, family, and community cannot simply ignore a person who is seriously injured, writing them off for their irresponsible behavior. We are morally obligated to render help and we all pay a price.
But does this mean we have the right to make laws against dangerous sports, trans-fats, soda? Where exactly we draw the line is entirely a matter of opinion.
You can’t get in my truck unless you buckle up. #1 rule if you want to roll in my rig.🌦drive safe
I’m with you! That’s MY law, too.
I hate to be a “Me Too” but in this case I’ll happily jump on!!! That’s the rule in my “broke down beast” as well!!!
So I have to buckle up before I can get into your truck? Hope the belts are long.
She did write “before”.
Glad my 3 yo son was totally ok. Too bad the wife illegally took our son out of state with her bf while he was drugged and driving. Sad
